And I see it on other websites. Some people pretend to be moderate conservatives and yet always come to the defense of Republicans. In almost all cases. On Fark years ago they were named “Fark Independents” because they were of course not crazy Republicans, but they spent every day defending another crazy Republican policy. Or spent all their time bashing Democrats and no time bashing Republicans but made sure to let everyone know how moderate and non partisan they are.

I updinged your #205 not because I particularly agree with it but because don’t think it deserved 6 downdings. People here are alternately either massively irritated or protective of D_F and you just hit on a bad day. It’s usually best to let the kid say some fresh stupid shit before digging in just so everyone feels it’s deserved. I’ve mostly just learned to bite my tongue and roll with it. He irks the shit out of me most of the time but I’ve seen a hell of a lot worse. Mostly now for me he just seems to represent the “bar” that all other commenters must clear if they want to stick around long term.
