re: #198 HappyWarrior
I think about the 1924 Immigration Act a lot since it was targeted at people like my momās grandparents. Momās grandparents were all here by then fortunately but my momās maternal grandmother as she was my great grandfatherās second wife emigrated last. My familyās emigration ranges from Washingtonās first term to 1921 or if you want to include my SiLās family in my lifetime. All that has given me a lot to think about my family and emigration.
It is that Act under which āLaw and Orderā Representative Steve King wants to rescind my citizenship.
I posited that question on my citizenship to my village attorney (a Republican) and he opined that would be an ex-post facto law. I noted though that the Republicans have long sought to remove birthright citizenship protections from the XIV Amendment for non-slave descendants. He said he would get back with me. That was three months ago.
