Well I had my first encounter with a real life Russian bot troll today. This was fun! The Onion ran an article poking fun at Melania Trump and saying she was going to hang up a stuffed racoon because it was Slovenian tradition. Some of the right wingers in the Slovene genealogy group I belong to were offended by it and didn’t realize it was actually spoofing how ignorant Americans are of the world around us and most don’t know Slovenia from whatever. But then this troll bot came in talking about how terrible American society is to Slovene-Americans. IT was just bizarrre. On the funny side, I talked to a guy in the group and his grandfather was a childhood friend of my distant cousin, Mike Strank of Iwo Jima fame.
