I agree with you, but unfortunately, the RNC and leadership are too weak to take such a stand. They are, apparently afraid of the PR backlash that would result. Of course, the Dems don’t have an issue with that. In Excremento, a Democratic Assemblyperson voted against a Democratic sponsored budget bill that dramatically hiked taxes stating that the predominately farming community she represented would not accept this and that the bill excluded a water amendment that she tried to push to assist those she represented. In punishment, the Dem leadership kicked her out of her office in the State Capital and moved it to an annex across the street - the only member of the Assembly or Senate who didn’t have an office in the Capital building.

There was no outcry.

Frankly, if I were of the Republican leadership, I would invite these 3 to become Democrats as they would no longer be welcome in the Republican caucus. They should lose all seniority and committee positions as well as any RNC funds or assistance. Granted, the point is that these 3 do not remove the Dem ownership of the steaming pile of ‘stimulus’ but there has to be repercussions.
