Which was a lie by conservatives then as well. Obama did use the word, and more than once. Calling a lie something else is straight out of the propaganda playbook.
We have terms for that. You even called it: Lying politicians. Shading the truth, using terms of phrase to convey the wrong impression, &c are also weaker terms than the one which actually describes that behaviour: âLying by omission.â
Trump not limited by any fear of being found out or not caring what is true or not is called âLying by commission.â
You know what I will do in my tiny little insignificant political office when someone asks me what Trump might have said or done today? âHe said X and itâs true, or he said Y and he lied.â Iâm not afraid of losing my position, Maggie Haberman is.
A person whoâs pay is dependent on ignoring whatâs right in front of her. What do you call a person who covers for a liar?
âA liar.â
This all started because of a Tweet from Haberman in which she called out âtwo demonstrable falsehoodsâ. And then everyone went to town on her for not saying âliesâ. Thatâs really all this is about. Nobodyâs accusing her of reporting the demonstrable falsehoods as truth. Just not using a particular word for them.
Please, explain to me how calling demonstrable falsehoods âdemonstrable falsehoodsâ is âignoring whatâs right in front of herâ.
