I had a bunch of Puerto Rican friends I hung around with one summer I spent in Madrid. It was absolutely hilarious to watch and hear them interact with Spaniards. Just their casual and frequent use of the word “anyway” to break up a (mostly) otherwise-Spanish sentence would cause the poor Spaniards to come close to conniption fits.
