I already gather that we are of similar ethnic stock (I am Slovak/Croatian/Bohemian/Hungarian) and while my dad kicked it at 52 of a heart attack, my mom and grandma lived to be 85 and 93 respectively.

Similar. Polish here on my father’s side. My mother’s side is mixed but includes German, which caused half my father’s family to disown us. My grandmother, great-grandmother, and great uncle were the only ones who would have anything to do with my mother, sister, or me.

Those left in my father’s family now will not speak to us.
