The ‘built on inevitability’ was a picture painted by foes, IMHO.

Some of that picture was bought by the Democratic voter base. I heard too many people on the left talk about all her baggage and that she was an inevitable candidate and they didn’t like it, thinking the Democrats were shoving her down their throats. And then there was the “shrill, cackle, harpy” stuff too.
