We had a ‘64 bug. It had a top speed of 45, and the turn signal didn’t work when the windshield wipers were on. The windshield froze on the inside, so whoever rode shotgun had to have a scraper and cloth. It was great in the snow though as long as your passenger keep scraping.

You cracked your windows and learned to not breathe out straight. Exhaled into your chest, downward. And kept a can of De Icer for the really bad nights. Gloves were mandatory along with scarves and good winter socks/ boots. I would tell friends to bundle up or die.
