To impeach, she needs the support of not just half of her caucus, but a large majority of it. I also see some wisdom in drawing this out. If the House impeached Trump tomorrow, the Senate GOP would kill it next week, and it would be forgotten by next November. May be better to draw it out into 2020, like the way the GOP drew out Benghazi.

Ideally, you’d want to have the impeachment hearings reach their crescendo around mid September - and then kick it over the Senate for trial in, let’s say, the first two weeks in October.

The GOP would be panicking. With only weeks to go until Election Day, the optics would look horrendous.
