So I’ve always been a big X fan. One of their less known albums, Ain’t Love Grand? is one of my favorites. There was a cover of the Small Faces track “All or Nothing” that I really liked. It turns out, however, that they hated it. They were forced to do the cover by the record company and when they rereleased the album, the stuck it on the end and intentionally screwed with it. This bummed me out since my cassette had died long ago. I finally found a nice copy of the original cd release on Eprey. I can respect that they weren’t happy with the song, but damn they did a great job on it I thought and I’m glad to finally have a copy of that version again.

As my college art teacher put it, an artists interpretation is only one of many of a piece of art.
