I have sympathy for all victims of violent crime - and it doesn’t matter if the person is an asshole in your opinion or not - a victim is a victim. That said, I don’t see how politicizing a murder does anything to respect the victim or their family. Mourn the loss, condemn the crime, and leave it at that.

In normal situations that would be the case, but not in this part of the world, although I appreciate your sentiment.
