Once again, I fully support regulating the shit out of that stuff. I just think the kill Facebook attitude is childish IMO. Regulate the medium. I’m merely stating that individual based social media is a different character than print media. You wrongly have this idea that everyone on FB is politics. Some of us and I include myself are pretty apolitical on there.

What he is saying is even with all the nice social banter we still got Trump through the manipulation of Facebook and Twitter; even spilling into YouTube.

It is not about you and Wendell doing the right thing. It is all the others that do not.

It is Facebook realizing they have a huge, comprehensive and powerful database they will sell to people to manipulate the platform for other than social uses. And that database loves to record the bad and good of all kinds of comments because all of that is very usable for the manipulation.

In other words that what makes Facebook bad is also good. It just depends what you are trying to achieve and if the people using it have good or bad intentions. So what I may not like is something someone else does like because they get to identify like-minded and then influence them.

I think that is why Zuckerberg is so protective of what he has and why he will probably never want to change. All the information, good and bad is important.

If he gets regulated so too does his data and then it becomes less potent because it no longer reflects those whose comments and posting get booted.
