Good point(s).

I remember when Ms. magazine had articles about ‘letting’ lesbians into the women’s movement. And not-very-flattering discussions (limited and one-sided) of women of color.

I was listening to a podcast I discovered Wonderly’s American History Tellers since a friend recommended me one of their podcasts about sports. They had one on the Civil Rights Movement and it correctly IMO started in WWII with the efforts by A. Phillip Randolph to desegregate the defense industries. Randolph is someone I think often forgotten even though he was the one who organized the march where MLK gave the famous Dream speech and I actually see his status often at Washington’s Union Station since he was head of the trade union for the Train Porters. And I was reminded of just how recent some of this stuff was. I also learned about how vital women were especially to the Civil Rights Movement. We get to a better future IMO by being able to talk about the past without excuses.
