Republican corruption is an interconnected top-layer national thing, like a spider web; the non-government participants are industrialists and bankers. Think Hunt Brothers, Kochs, etc. Democratic corruption is a localized, top-to-bottom thing (Tammany Hall, Daley machine); the non-government participants are unions and mobsters. Think Jimmy Hoffa & associates.
