Sometimes, I wonder how different world history would be if Columbus met the Aztec instead of the Taino… or if Plymouth didn’t survive that first winter…

Or if the Roanoke colony, the legendary heroes of white-supremacists, had survived.

A lot of what-ifs make for good fiction (something at which time-travel shows often fail, being stuck on Hitler or the US Civil War.)

What if the Spanish explorers who first went through what became the US decided to stay and make their colonies there?

Bottom line is that the European exploration era made dramatic changes to the global demography, the consequences of which have yet to fully work out.

Remember, as a species we are hundreds of thousands of years old. 500 odd years is just a blink of an eye.
