re: #213 nyc redneck

charles,
this is only the 2nd tea party to take place in nyc.
this is an unfolding phenomenon, conservative civic minded citizens engaging
in lawful demonstration against an out of control leftist tax and spend gov’t.
we have a legitimate right to speak our minds.
it is too early to call these events a failure. to backdown because of imagined or even real threats from moonbats.
it may take time to weed out the scum, iron out the kinks.
but we have momentum now, it is a good cause.
necessary.
i understand the taint of radical extremists ,
but our purpose is bigger than any detraction they can bring.
you may be right, they may queer the deal afterall but to give in w/ out a fight
is not the answer.
at least not for many decent patriotic americans who will be participating in this national movement today.
i think it’s exciting. the first amendment in action.

Great thoughts!
And as you often do, you’ve written exactly what’s been in my mind about these.
And the first amendment in action - for many who have never taken part in anything like this! It was a “first” for me, and for the 2 chums with me, to attend this sort of issues rally.

I saw no “Ron Paul” signs - not saying they weren’t there, but I didn’t see any, and I moved around from place to place to see what there was to see.

And at our event, it was not Obama-specific. There was an acknowledgement by one of the speakers that this is not a problem of “Democrats” in charge, but also a problem of Republicans who won’t act like Republicans when it comes to fiscal issues.
