There have been proposals floated for some time now to put military decoration recipients awards and some form of identification online. Impersonations have soared in recent years, and this would be one way to combat fraud. The sticking point, of course, is how to provide identification without…identifying anyone. Could be an opt-in service, with the military providing confirmation of decorations once someone made the decision to appear. It would certainly be welcome in this case; the claims here have a certain stink hovering over them.
