There’s actually one school in the CUNY system that tanks their ratings. It has something like a 25% 6 year graduation rate. I don’t know what they’re doing there, but they’re doing it wrong.

The CUNY system excluding that school has a bad 4-year graduation rate, but a perfectly fine (comparable to normal state schools) 6-year graduation rate.

I think I’m going to CUNY it, unless some big pile of money pops up out of the blue.

Sometimes a bad graduation rate means they’re giving marginal beginning students a shot. (That’s one reason our elementary/HS numbers can be made to look bad in historical comparison. No would have given my backwoods FIL a shot at HS. He wound up piloting his own Aztec.)
