I think though that some of the damage is leaking down to the local level. But,it’s going to be awhile before a real change is seen. I just watched the local news and the first Korean American member of our state level government was just elected. He’s a Republican. In his interview he stated that the GOP has a branding problem. NO,he’s wrong. They have a POLICY problem,their policies are based on being mean,stingy,resentful and a whole host of other negatives. They really need to consider what the word conservative actually means,not what their idiotic brand is.

But,Akin is gone and several more like him went buh-bye. It’s going to take a long time due to fear and stubborness,but I think the next election cycle might start taking out more of the more radical right.it’s going to happen on the federal level first,I think,but that isn’t going to protect the local level offices. The real issue,IMO,is how to work past all the hate and fear that’s been allowed to fester. Liberals and Democrats aren’t going to be able to fix that alone,we’re going to need sane conservatives to help us. How to form those coalitions is where I get stuck.
