If someone tells me they support paying people a minimum wage people can live on I don’t care if they’re card carrying communists. We agree on the minimum wage. If they say they support solar power development over fracking, they can be evangelical Christians who think I’m going to hell when I die…we agree on going solar. If someone says they think we should stop turning a blind eye to the plight of the Palestinian people, I don’t care if they’re a Prius driving vegan*, we agree on a two state solution.

Do I care if Bernie’s got a D by his name? Fuck no. I’m a D. But we have open primaries here in California so I don’t have to remain a D. Maybe I can be an Independent or a Decline to State…problem is I align with pretty much everything that was in the Democratic platform (thanks Bernie for working with Hillary on that!). So I’m a Democrat…

*Full disclosure, I have a number of Prius driving vegan friends and they’re good people.

Not talking about the issues. I’m talking about him insisting that we listen to his vision of the party’s future for a party he has no desire to join. That may not be an issue to you but it bothers a lot of people. By all means, he should talk about those issues. I welcome that but he should either join the party or shut up about it if he’s going to insist that we’re not “listening” to the white middle class enough.
