Aha that would make sense too. It’s so interesting to me how OC, once a bastion of conservatism went for Clinton while my mom’s parents home county in Pa (Cambria, where Johnstown is) went for Trump in a landslide. This was a county that even went for Mondale over Reagan in the 80’s.

Like I said, it’s a trend. Brown lost Orange County in 2010 (to Whitman) 57-37, but improved in 2014 (while still losing to Kashkari) 55-44. The next couple of cycles will be interesting. With Fienstein saying she’s running again, there will probably be a Republican on the ballot in 2018, so we’ll see how that goes. But then again, in the Senate primary last year, Sanchez and Harris combined for the majority of votes in Orange County (Sanchez was a local Representative) and only one Republican reached double digits (also a sign of how bad the GOP has gotten out here).
