Shooting a mortar at yourself is suicide. A few years ago some attention-seeking kid who “always did random things” lit one and rested it on his head. His head was gone in an instant, traumatizing his friends.

The basic idea of how rockets achieve lift is exactly why you don’t want something like that resting on you in any way.
