re: #188 Targetpractice

Figures, I watch The Day of the Doctor and now have to contend with the compulsion to catch up on the series.

It’s a compulsion best scratched. From the first Christopher Eccleston episode through “The Day of The Doctor,” almost every episode is wildly entertaining and there are at least a half-dozen or so that are absolutely terrific. I’ve watched ‘em all twice now, and while I didn’t care much at all for the farting aliens, there was only one episode that I hated (“Love & Monsters”). “Midnight” ranks among the best one-hour science fiction episodes I’ve ever seen.

Incidentally, I read there’s now talk about a big screen Doctor Who. It seems that “Day of The Doctor” did pretty decent business with its recent (one night?) movie theater release, grossing some $10 million that included nearly $5 million in the U.S. alone. It was #2 for the day after “Catching Fire.”
