There is no reason for a single Democrat to vote for this douche nozzle, but there will be at least one damp squib who does because “I’ll get in trouble with the voters if I don’t!”

If the GOP caucus is solid, meaning the confirmation is inevitable, then letting a couple Senators in tough battles in red states go is probably smarter. I’m actually worried about this fight not ending before the election. I’m afraid it would bring out their base more than ours, and I’m afraid it’s inevitable in any case. If the GOP loses the Senate, they’ll push through a warm body in the Lame Duck to avoid potentially losing a seat.
