Stupid Politician Tricks

My dear, as Walter points out, these are in general well-known political tactics, used by right and left time out of mind, and easily identified as being currently used by the wingnut fringe against the Obama administration. (Possibly due to the wingnut fringe’s odd elevation of poor old Saul Alinsky.)

But my question remains—where did you get the idea that this book was still, in any way, influential among ‘leftists’, let alone the Democratic party? Do you really think that Barack Obama refers to Alinsky? Bill Clinton? Nancy Pelosi? Claire McCaskill? Barbara Boxer?

Thank you for that support. No more than many Hebrew biblical stories can trace their roots to concepts and understandings that were already ensconced in earlier civilizations, these political machinations that Alinsky codified in his book are all based on tried and true political tactics that have been around for ages.

And really, the English politician in the Baroque period actually would have made Alinsky look like a city councilman.
