re: #240 thedopefishlives

My grandmother only had one son, and I am likewise the only son in the family. After I finally got married, my grandmother would - very subtly - imply that I should get with the procreating right away, and that I had better have a boy (she left off the “or else”, thankfully). When my firstborn did, in fact, come out as a boy, she actually apologized to me and said that she would’ve loved him even if he was a she. I had to laugh.

I am the only boy of my immediate family (2 sisters, 1 older 1 younger). All 3 of us have had kids. The count stands (and probably will since we are all in our 50’s now), 7 boys and 1 girl. I have 3 boys, my little sister has 2 boys and my older sister has one girl and 2 boys.

As for grandchildren, I have a grandson, my older sister has a granddaughter, and little sis has none yet. So the grand-kids are evening out at least for now :-)
