Seriously. How the hell do you with a straight face call yourself a Christian and get upset that kids are being helped. But then again, I’m not a blithering asshole like Jim Hoft spending my days with my head up my ass.

You shouldn’t, but people have been calling themselves Christians just to look good since, well, shortly after Christ died. It’s stupid and it’s my major pet peeve, but I’m just one guy. Check this: According to a recent poll (I’d have to look to find the link; this is just from a sermon I heard two weeks ago), 83% of Americans self-identify as Christians. Only 7% actually believe the most basic tenets of Christianity. Chew on that for a minute when these self-described “Christians” go off on xenophobic, racist, and/or sexist rants.
