“Cagle is just one in a line of Georgians to shoot their state in the foot. HB87 was another example. Designed to scare off immigrants, it succeeded. In scaring off most of the workforce needed by Georgia farms and hotels and restaurants…”

I remember when this happened. When the bill was being written, right-wingers were all for it because they were 100% sure undocumented immigrants were to blame for “taking their jobs [and everything else] from them.” After Deal signed the bill into law, migrant workers fled the state, crops began to rot in the fields, and Deal got the “great” idea to hire probationers to replace the migrant workers, and guess what happened? Many of the probationers who decided to take the jobs quit before noon on the first day on the job or quit before the end of the first week on the job because the work was just too hard. Since this happened, I haven’t heard much from the anti-immigration tools. This was one time that they got what they asked for and paid dearly for it.
