Pretty much all the social events here in Va Beach have been canceled through the middle of July, including all the big concerts and fireworks displays on July 4th. So while people are going to insist on visiting the beach while the weather’s nice and warm, all the big events that attract huge crowds are gone until at least August.

Gov. Ricketts just issued a new so-called Directed Health Measure for the Panhandle which further loosens restrictions here.

Gatherings of up to 25, or 25% of a venue of capacity up to 3,000, excluding staff, will be permitted starting June 1. (This would allow every church here to fully open as well as every restaurant.)

Those planning to reopen a venue of over 500 must submit a plan to Panhandle Public Health District on social distancing and severe weather.
