I was surprised to see that Peggy Noonan is actually younger than I am (though not by much). She seems to be one of those people who have been around since the Coolidge Administration and made their mark railing against Lend-Lease.

I got it wrong, she was a speech writer for Ronald Reagan, not Richard Nixon.

This bit caught my eye:

During Hurricane Katrina, she called for looters in New Orleans to be shot. Henry Giroux called it a “barely coded rationale to shoot low-income black people.”

Aside the racism, conservatives always seem to want to go to guns first.
