George Romney did not march with MLK but he DID march arm-in-arm with John Conyers and John Dingell. They don’t build Republicans like that any more.

Prior to Reagan, the place you were from told people more about your views than your party affiliation. The line between liberal and conservative didn’t correspond to the party dividing line. George Romney, if he were a rep, would more than likely be a Democrat if he were to stick with his views.
