Elections may be called by the press on election night, but the election results aren’t official until they’re certified by the states, and that occurs weeks later. The numbers are then sent on and tabulated.

That’s how all elections work. Some close elections take time for the results to become known. Some have been disputed all the way to the Supreme Court. Had we gone with a strict direct voting instead of EC, we’d know who won the WH pretty early on too.

At this point, the media should stop trying to horse race this fucking lunatic and switch to seeing by how big a margin can Biden run up against the worst admin in the nation’s history. No other admin has done as much damage to the nation as Trump since before the Civil War.

how may times do we have to say this until we are blue in the face?
the media does not ‘call’ elections. they predict, in shorthand, what they think is gonna happen when everything is counted and verified.

there are two problems here
- one is the chaos he’s sowing
- the other is it’s very like he doesn’t know how any of this works
