Italians have been in lockdown just a couple of weeks and already they want out:
Long-term lockdowns are probably not going to work in Western societies, no matter how well-intentioned they are. Individual freedoms and civil liberties are simply too deeply-ingrained into the Western world, especially the idea of individualism. It may work to a greater extent in societies where the cultural focus is more collectivist.
