re: #225 Dianna
The koran is incoherent.
Baigent, Leigh and Lincoln actually can write. They were insanely credulous, but they put together a fun book.
Lincoln, of course, left the group, as he wanted to work on subjects “more susceptible of proof” - though one must (looking over his publications) wonder what he considers proof - and Baigent and Leigh went on to create something of an industry.
However, even they, at some point, got tired of Pierre Plantard’s games, and quit. I haven’t seen anything by either one in quite a while.
But the pseudo-history they dredged up has founded a thriving industry. They should get royalties, or at least acknowledgment for their initial spadework.
I guess you know that Plantard came clean just before he died (2004 I think). All the Dossier papers were plated by him and some friends.
Lincoln was not going to let a good thing go, he just barreled right on, with no care if his material had any truth in it. Hell, he works for the BBC.
And yes, I agree, they write wonderfully. But, as I said in a post above, they didn’t come up with much new, this “story” has been around for a couple a hundred years.
Books on the subject go back to the turn of the 1800’s.
