Despite, or perhaps because of Sandy Hook, CO saw record background checks for firearms over the weekend. The demand for checks was so high that wait times went from a few minutes to nearly a day:

This just goes to show that the NRA still has great power over the weak-minded.

But I believe that their grip on politicians is diminishing.
