Comparing Snowden to Zenger? That’s a new one. I’ll give them points on originality. But by going to these new lengths, it shows that they’re running out of excuses for his actions.

While these dudebros are at it, why not compare him to Nathan Hale? If you’re going to go with nonsensical analogies, why not go all the way?

Oh wait. Snowden isn’t willing to pay the consequences of his actions. He fled to a country that benefits from his release of classified US documents, and refuses to come back to the US because he fears being prosecuted (for all the crimes he committed - including countless counts of espionage and passing classified information to those unauthorized to have it).

Zenger was someone to admire. Snowden, not so much. Comparing him to Zenger sullies the latter’s name and the principles on which Zenger and Hamilton stood.

Next up: Snowden is the modern equivalent of Giordano Bruno!
