I like him. And I think to a degree, he has a point.
That said, Bourdain himself overlooks the fact that many of those ‘gun-country’ Americans hated people like me long before Trump was even a thing.
And I like that he goes in on Maher. In that respect, he’s on point. Maher’s a smug prick.
That’s a valid point for sure. But overall, I’m just stoked that he went after a bigot like Maher. Maher’s views on Muslims are really no different than that of Pamela Geller or Robert Spencer anyways. Just because he’s a liberal doesn’t mean he gets a free pass IMO.
After all, isn’t engaging in self-introspection an integral part of being a liberal as well?
