I have a good opportunity to work in the furniture/electronic department of a major non-profit thrift store chain. And I have an “in” with the manager and interviewed for the job this morning. Nine dollars an hour, full benefits in 90 days, 40 hour a week. A real job. There is a lot of other things I would rather do, but bottom line is after the 55 percent cut in salary at the theatre in Sept. 2009, I really want a regular job.

Best of luck with the job AND the future plans. Sometimes you’ve got to take a few steps sideways to keep moving forward. That’s one of the windfalls of the recession for those employers who are able to hire: lots of over-qualified applicants out there.
