I prefer my way of seeing it.

If the market dictates what we are going to be able to say here, than we are all screwed.

Myself, I want to promote stories of how the Chinese have persecuted the Tibetans and Uighurs. And promote stories to give the worst possible light on the history.

There are two ways of looking at film, first that of a voice of personal or cultural expression, promoting an exchange of ideas throughout the world.

Then there is film as a way of getting butts on seats in a theater and making money.

It is rare when the two meet and produce something monumental.
