Any of you gun nuts ever fire a Purdey? I heard they were pretty excellent but I never tried myself.

Guilty. I’ve fired a Purdey double rifle, .375 H&H. It shoots like any other big game rifle, accurate and balanced though very heavy on the recoil. It is a thing of beauty, really an art object, and carries a stratospheric price.
There is a market, though, and they are still very much in business. James and Purdey and Sons.
