You know when I saw that photo of Paddock with his eyes closed, he honestly kind of reminded me a little of my Dad. Hell Paddock was close to my Dad’s age too. And I guess that’s the thing isn’t it? White guy does a mass shooting like Paddock does and our media doesn’t critique “white culture.” FNC isn’t having a panel to tell white people they need to stop committing violence. No, we just look for ways to see these guys as outliers in our demographic. The most disturbingly honest thing I saw after Vegas was FNC stumped trying to find ways to hate Paddock. They really would have found it that much easier to hate Paddock if he had looked different than them. That he committed the worst single shooter mass shooting in U.S. history was immaterial.
