Lust in his heart was such bs fauxrage. One thing I admire about Carter’s faith is how genuine and without pretension it is. That Evangelicals abandoned him for fakes like Reagan and now embrace Trump says a lot about how empty they are. I’m not saying no true Christian but if you can’t acknowledge Jimmy Carter lives his life with a Christian compass, you’re blind.

Interestingly, and to give you some idea just how different the world was in 1976, the “lust in my heart” answer was given in an interview with Playboy. That he gave an interview to Playboy generated only a mild controversy at the time. An interview with the future President, in a titty magazine.
