Thought about you yesterday. Was in the self check-out at Kroger. The dude on duty basically checked me out. I was… perplexed.

Those beeps, those lights, those buttons; they frighten and confuse me.

Personally, I refuse to use those lanes. They effectively eliminate three out of four cashier’s jobs. And I don’t even get a discount for doing what a store employee used to do for me. Bad all around.

At the local Home Depot, self-checkout is the only lane open on Sunday mornings until about 10:00. I’ve left and gone to Lowes more than once as a result. Lowes, thankfully, has not yet succumbed to their installation.
