The ambiguous language regarding the militia is what I mean here. Anyhow, the 2nd to me actually is why I had the biggest problem with Scalia’s and now likely Gorsuch’s Originalist judicial philosophy. We can’t get Rufus and the Phone Booth to get James Madison to San Dimas to ask him about how he intended the 2nd. Though, we should be using what we have got and the times we’re in.

A lot has been written about the time and the intentions of the founders in regards to the 2nd amendment.

The gist of what I’ve learned regarding the individual right to self-defense is as I stated above.

It is important to note that much of the constitution is based on property rights —and the right to defend them.

I think this is the part that justifies to some the “stand your ground” laws etc.
