re: #134 cliffster

It’s really important to liberals to keep the conversation away from the issues, because their lies and talking points are pretty flimsy. That’s why really all you hear is a steady stream of accusations against the right-wing. Every incident is exaggerated and plastered everywhere. Giant efforts are made to link GOP members to anything and everything evil. When your own agenda sucks, you spend all your time trying to trash the opponent.

Like you just did here?

I don’t know what debates, or plain old arguments, you’ve been in, but many of the debates I’ve engaged in, and those I’ve witnessed, have been the exact opposite. The religious right does not and will not address the issues, hell they don’t even recognize the issues. The anti-intellectuals on the right won’t address the the issues because to them, if it isn’t about the emotional response then it isn’t worth talking about. To them facts are about how they feel, not about observation and analysis.

The only right wing people I know personally who do examine the issues, logically and rationally, were booted out of FreeRepublic as RINOs and antiChrists.

Unfortunately, and this is just anecdotal, in my experience the number of rational right capable of arguing the issues is dwarfed by the remainder.
