Didn’t the early Vegas have serious issues with the aluminum blocks and heads not expanding and contracting at the same rates thus making them prone to leaving all their oil under them depending on conditions?

America had a rough time going with aluminum heads at first. The Vegas I think had the worst. Gaskets and seals were also a problem.

But then there was the Chevrolet Chevette. Ugh.

I knew some people that had them. I think you could get out and run faster from 0 to 20. Seriously under-powered engine that had a hard time spinning the drive train for a more powerful engine. I think half the horsepower died in the transmission and another 1/4 in the read end.
