I can almost believe “Trump meant well” and that he did what Trump does, which is brag about himself, and think that he fulfilled his “duty” with a “score of 10 out of 10.”

He also tries to wing it, which is how you end up not having the soldier’s name. It’s also how the whole mess started: he didn’t have an answer to the question of why there had been no statement about the deaths in Niger. But he’s also too lazy to learn Crash Davis’s lesson that cliche’s are your friend, and just say something like “we’re working on a response and will issue it shortly.” Instead he started talking about calling people, which no one had asked about, and stupidly blundered into an even worse minefield.

Short version: F***ing Moron.
