It still amazes me that during the entirety of the Brexit disaster nobody in leadership was willing to say “look, the referendum was non-binding, we explored it, but leaving the EU is just not feasible, nor is it in the national interest.”

Me, too - I couldn’t understand what I was missing and why they were acting like it was settled law especially when some voters were saying if they had known it would be binding they would have voted “stay.”
