Disagree. Not unless we’ve talked to China, South Korea, and Japan first.

SK will probably have no problem. Japan is in the fallout cone. And China still uses NK for the occasional sock puppetry - not to mention still has some face in protecting them.

fwiw, I’ve got a wild hair suggestion about what to do about NK. Still requires China to let us do it, but…
1) Smash the rocket launch facility. Conventional bombs/cruise missiles will be sufficient.
2) Start a “cook’s march” and keep it fully supplied.

The cook’s march would be a moving line of cooks - little mama’s, amateur backyard experts, and pros - prepping tasty treats. Move a quarter- to half-day, set up, bake and cook an open feast. Just turn in your guns if you’re armed, grab a bowl and a spoon, and move along. Give the line air cover - you can’t smell a feast at 30,000 feet - but make sure you send lots of coverage (dropsheets and radio) announcing it’s coming.

Won’t work as written, but I keep feeling as though it’s got some possibilities given what North Korea’s economy and food structure is like.

No, if North Korea fired a nuke at US forces or at the US, at a minimum we’ve nuke wherever the nuke was launched from. We’d tell China the nuke was coming, but we wouldn’t ask permission.
